Esquisses pour un Film

Une exposition qui montre toutes les étapes créatives de production d'un film d'animation. Des toutes premières esquisse au film finalisé.  L'exposition regroupe des recherches graphiques, des étapes préparatoires, dites de pré-production (story-board, model-sheets...), des dessins de productions et des extraits ainsi que le film final.

Pour les dix ans de la maison des auteurs, l’exposition présente l’originalité des travaux de quarante-trois résidents accueillis en 2012, et dévoile les liens qui se tissent entre des auteurs venus d’horizons fort divers.

For the 10th anniversary of La Maison des Auteurs, the exhibition shows the original work of the 43 artists in residency for 2012 and unveil the connections that grow between these authors and their work.

En janvier 2003, la maison des auteurs présentait sa toute première exposition, regroupant les travaux en cours de la première vague de résidents, alors au nombre de quinze. Dix ans plus tard, l’exposition annuelle de la maison des auteurs, devenue un rendez-vous obligé des amateurs de bande dessinée qui se pressent à Angoulême à la fin du mois de janvier, confirme le statut acquis par ce lieu de création dédié à la narration graphique. Sobrement intitulée « En résidence », elle expose les créations de quarante-trois auteurs de bande dessinée et de films d’animation venus en 2012 de tous les coins du monde.

In January 2003, was exhibited at La Maison des Auteurs the first show displaying the work of the first artists-in-residence welcomed. At the time they were fifteen. Ten years later, the annual exhibition of La maison des Auteurs has become a must-go event for the comics lovers who gather in Angouleme each year at the end of January, establishing the international status of this creative place dedicated to graphic story-telling. Simply titled "in residency" the show exhibit the creativ work of 43 authors for comics or animated films, who came from all over the world in 2012.

Crowds and Barriers
A collaborative project of animated monotypes by UArts Associate Professor Patty Smithand Claire Fouquet (Cefu), a faculty member in the animation program at École Européenne Supérieure de L'image. Working together for the past three weeks in the Printmaking Edition studio, the two artists have produced over 25 monotypes that have been translated into a brief animation. It is the first stage of a larger project to be completed in the spring of 2013 in Angoulême and Paris, France. The prints and animation will be on view.

Constellation, l’exposition des auteurs en résidence, est à l’honneur de la seconde édition du Graphic Narrative Project organisé par L’Alliance Française d’Ahmedabad.

À cette occasion, quinze auteurs de bande dessinée et de cinéma d’animation en résidence à la maison des auteurs sont exposés du 5 au 12 octobre au National Institute of Design (NID) d’Ahmedabad : Mi-young Baek, Laure Clémansaud, Rachel Deville, Elric Dufau, Elena Forcato, Cédric Fortier, Claire Fouquet, Pascal Girard, Jean-Luc Gréco, Céline Guichard, Tigran Mangassarian, Julie Maroh, Camille Moulin-Dupré, Emre Orhun et Julien Zanesi.

Constellation, the exhibition of the authors in residency, is on display for the second Garphic Narrativ Project, run by the Ahmedabad's Alliance Française. On this occasion, fifteen authors from comics and animation films in residency at La Maison des Auteurs will exhibit their work at the NID (National Institute of Design) of Ahmedabad from the 5th to the 12th of october 2012.

Mon travail sur l'esthétique des manifestation, de l'action collective et des foules en général commencé lors du travail sur mon film d'animation "Vos Papiers"est exposé à la galerie "Art-Image" à Angoulême. Le principe est de faire des séries d'images relativement abstraites qui ne prennent sens que par le mouvement.

My work on protests, public addresses, and crowds in general started while working on my animation film "Let's see your ID" is on display at Art-Image gallery in Angoulême (France). The motion gives to each series of abstract images a new meaning.
